I am one of many taking on Townsville's 2.5km Walk for Epilepsy, raising funds and awareness to ensure people affected by epilepsy in north Queensland have access to the support, training, and information they need to live well with epilepsy.
2. A bit about Dravet Syndrome
Dravet syndrome is a rare form of intractable epilepsy that begins in infancy and proceeds with accumulating morbidity that significantly impacts individuals throughout their lifetime. Dravet syndrome has an estimated incidence rate of 1:15,700, with the majority of patients carrying a mutation in the sodium channel gene SCN1A.
