Get Seizure Smart 9-15 September 2023

Epilepsy Queensland are urging all Australians to Get Seizure Smart this September. The campaign asks the question – could you help if someone had a seizure? With 1 in 10 people experiencing a seizure the campaign aims to educate the Australian community to:

1. Recognise the signs of a seizure
2. Respond with seizure first aid

Correct seizure first aid can save a life, prevent injury, or provide comfort. Recognising different types of seizures and responding appropriately can also reduce stigma for the person needing assistance.

Epilepsy is most commonly diagnosed in children 5 years and under and Australians aged 60 years and over. Find tailored resources for these groups below.

Follow our social media channels Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn to share seizure smart information.

Download our FREE seizure first aid resources and encourage those around you to share the #GetSeizureSmart message.

Together, let’s create an Australia that can #RecogniseAndRespond.
