The Finley Smith Memorial Cup is back!
After the overwhelming success of our event last year, where we raised over $43,000 (exceeding our original target of $15,000), we are thrilled to announce that the Finley Smith Memorial Cup will be returning on the 15th of June 2024 at Harrup Park Country Club, Mackay!
The Finley Smith Memorial Cup is more than just a sporting event; it's a celebration of life and a tribute to a remarkable individual. It brings together friends, families, and colleagues to honour the memory of Finley Smith and support a cause that is close to our hearts.
This year, we are determined to make an even bigger impact. With your continued support, we aim to exceed our previous fundraising record and create positive change in the lives of those in need. Every dollar raised will go towards supporting Epilepsy Queensland, providing them with the resources and support they require.
For those who didn't know Fin, he was one of a kind. Known for his quick wit, cheeky laugh, sense of humor and loveable nature, he was adored by his friends and family. He uplifted the energy in any room he walked in to and there was never a dull moment in his presence. He was always up for a chat, a beer or any sort of social gathering or function.
Fin’s life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with Epilepsy in 2019. The years after his diagnosis were challenging; he saw numerous specialists and tried various medications to help manage his condition. However, even during his struggles, he continued to remain positive and live his life to the fullest. His life began to return to normalcy when it appeared that his most recent medication was working. He became passionate about improving his health and fitness and focusing on his career as a Real Estate agent. He’d just listed a house valued over $2.7 million and had a very promising career in front of him.
On 15th February 2022, Fin unexpectedly passed away due to Epileptic seizure, leaving a void in the lives of his friends and family.
