Dreadlock Chop

By Dreadlock Chop

I am hosting a fundraiser to Make March Purple for epilepsy

A few Years Ago My daughter was diagnosed with a type of Epilepsy. Over the last few years she has been put through the ringer with testing and going through the motions that Epilepsy effects have on a teenage girl. I want to create more awareness to this disease to help with other young people and their families.

I am raising as much money as i can hoping for $10k for charity. I am putting my Dreadlocks on the line and will have them Cut off in April please dig deep as every dollar counts towards my total.

Every 33 minutes a life is turned upside down by epilepsy.

I am raising funds for Epilepsy Queensland to ensure the epilepsy helpline can continue to answer every call for help. Did you know that up to 90% of Australians with epilepsy do not feel they have access to the support they need to live well with the condition? By supporting my fundraiser you will make a real difference.

Thank you!

Zahra’s story

Thursday 23rd Feb
It all started when she was 16..
Zahra woke her younger brother in the middle of the night on the 9th of August 2020 as she couldn’t see, her mum went to check what was going on to find Zahra standing there with a blank look on her face, and she started convulsing in her mums arms, while Zahras step dad called an ambulance, my son called me, I was there within the next few minutes by her side while we waited for the ambulance not knowing what or why this was happening, why was this beautiful happy healthy girl of ours having a seizure.. from there it was a long process of blood tests, mri scans, 7 day monitoring, more blood tests, more mri scans, over night monitoring and then she was diagnosed with epilepsy on the 29th of September 2021 at 17 years old, turning her whole world upside down. Fast forward to 18 years old, on seizure medication and in just under 2 months will be 1 YEAR seizure free, she is doing amazing and the strongest bravest young girl I know. Zahra has graduated year 12 class of 2022, has completed a diploma of Beauty therapy and is working as a massage/beauty therapist and is studying a double degree at uni (Bachelor of Behavioural Science & Bachelor of Criminology and Justice)
This girl is UNSTOPPABLE!! 💜
