After the incredible success of our previous events, which raised over $76,000 for epilepsy awareness and support, we are excited to announce that the Finley Smith Memorial Cup will be back for a third year on 14 June 2025 at Harrup Park Country Club in Mackay!
The Finley Smith Memorial Cup is more than just a sporting event; it’s a heartfelt celebration of life and a tribute to an extraordinary individual. This gathering brings together friends, families, and colleagues to honour Finley Smith’s memory while supporting a cause that holds deep significance for us all.
This year, we’re aiming even higher! With your continued support, we hope to surpass our previous fundraising achievements and drive meaningful change for those affected by epilepsy. Every dollar raised will go directly to Epilepsy Queensland, helping to provide vital resources and support.
For those who may not have known Fin, he was truly one of a kind. With his infectious laughter, quick wit, and warm spirit, he brought joy to everyone around him. Whether sharing a conversation over a beer or lighting up a social gathering, he never failed to uplift the atmosphere.
In 2019, Fin's life changed when he was diagnosed with epilepsy. Despite the challenges he faced—multiple specialist visits and various medications—he remained resilient and positive, dedicated to living life to the fullest. His journey took a hopeful turn when he found a medication that worked, reigniting his passion for health and fitness and propelling his promising career as a real estate agent. Just weeks before his passing, he listed a stunning $2.7 million property, with a bright future ahead.
Tragically, on 15 February 2022, Fin passed away due to an unexpected seizure, leaving a profound impact on all who knew him.
